Yonela Nsimbi (b. 1994) is a Cape Town based emerging artist whose work reflects the lived realities of township life. Blending realism with an impressionistic approach to his subject matter, he combines finely detailed figures with bold charcoal backgrounds to create pieces that are both striking and deeply emotive.

His passion for art began at a young age, when he would carefully sketch celebrities from magazine pages, captivated by the power of portraiture. Over time, his technique evolved and his focus shifted closer to home.
