Claire
Denarie-soffietti
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born and raised in Versailles, France, Claire was schooled in Paris and obtained a Baccalaureate with distinction. She moved to South Africa and studied Law at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Claire has lived in Turin in Italy, South Africa, and Barbados, where her art career flourished. Having been married with four children by now, she successfully exhibited with celebrity clients such as Luciano Pavarotti and Cliff Richards collecting many of her works.
Today Claire resides in Dubai with her family and exhibits throughout the world, including South Africa, the Middle East and Hong Kong. Claire has always exhibited on a very international platform; from the notorious “Sandy Lane” in Barbados to the creative streets of Chelsea, New York City, as well as at Agora Art Gallery in New York City, United States and Montreal, Canada.
Her work has been featured in Habitat magazine, as well as Top Billing and House and Garden and she was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Best international emerging artist of 2013’.
Her painting style shows influences from the post-impressionists, yet is undeniably contemporary, with an up-beat flamboyant character. Soffietti’ figures have secrets, and hint at an interior world within the picture frame. It is her wonderfully palpable painting style and bold colour choices that makes the 2D picture world seem more real than our very own.
